Diamond FAQ - How did the Black Diamonds?

Diamonds are made of carbon lattice form. In its purest form, all diamonds are colorless, called "white". However, during its formation, microscopic amounts of gaseous compounds or other type, called inclusions, can be trapped within the development of diamond network. The inclusions absorb, scatter and reflect light will return through the polished stone. It provides color diamond. The exact color depends on the concentration and chemical properties of inclusion.

The wide range of possible inclusions means diamonds are found naturally in a wide range of color than any other gemstone. In fact, more than 300 natural colored diamonds are found. Color diamonds represent only a fraction of all mined diamonds, colored diamonds being very rare. However, the black diamonds are the rarest of all. Usually found in Brazil and Central African Republic, their black color comes from Microsoft including graphite, sulphides, hematite and magnetite, that the cloud of precious stones such as form, and gives it its metallic black color.

In nature, diamonds form hundreds of kilometers below the Earth's surface, where temperatures and pressures other cause simple high carbon to undergo a transformation to a diamond lattice. Gray eruptions after transporting the diamonds to the surface of Earth. Originally black diamond is believed to form in the same way as white diamonds, although known to greatly higher. However, this is another explanation.

Researchers at the University of Florida published a study which in 2006 proposed a connection for stellar origin of black diamonds. They used the instruments of lower-red detection to analyze trace elements and minerals found within the black Gems. It was discovered that the mineral came before the formation of the Solar System! It is now thought that the supernova explosion of carbon-based former star caused large clouds of carbon dust to form, which eventually became asteroids black diamond. These are thought to over 1 kilometer in diameter, when it finally crashed to Earth!

All this may sound a bit exaggerated, but subsequent research has supported the theory. At least some, if not all, natural black diamonds found on Earth are caused by explosions of carbon-based stars. This is the black diamonds with other precious stones known extraterrestrial origin?

The next time you are looking for something a little unusual, consider buying a black diamond! Its beauty is out of this world in more ways than one!
